At Max Films, we believe that motion pictures are one of the most effective ways to communicate a message to the public and bring awareness to issues that have "less commercial value," but "high ethical value." That's why we have partnered with a non-profit organization called New Dawn New Me Foundation™ (formerly, Abhagan No More™) to bring the story of an Indian (Hindu) woman suffering from domestic abuse here in the USA. The project is titled in Hindi as "Abhagan" which in English means "The Unfortunate."
This is not just a movie for awareness - IT IS A RESCUE MISSION!
It is our intent to give a voice to her story and raise awareness for the muted and isolated (from the world) victims of the Battered Woman Syndrome. God willing, raise enough funds to give the victim and many unfortunate women like her - a new life! We are doing this entire project pro bono and promise never to receive any compensation from the Foundation. The last thing we want to do is make money off someone else's tragedy.
Message from the CEO, Dr. Loksidh (Chaaya) Ganorkar of New Dawn New Me Foundation ™ - a non-profit foundation dedicated to support Indian women of domestic abuse.
